Gryphon Wingback

This wingback chair embraces both luxury and whimsy, with a sloped back leading into purposive, pointed wings. Ball and claw feet and rounded hand rests, cast in aluminum and then polished, give this chair its peerless style.

This prototype was by Tina Morgan in graphite Herringbone Stripe by Paul Smith, a gorgeous all-wool fabric made by Maharam.

Materials

Baltic birch plywood and poplar frame, mortise and tenon joinery, burlap webbing, foam and upholstery fabric. Cast aluminum feet and hand rests.
